Dramatherapist

Katy Tozer BA (Hons), MA, PGCertHE, FHEA

Katy Tozer qualified as a Dramatherapist from the University of Derby in 2010. Since then she has worked in various clinical settings, mainly specialising in working with children and families in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). Katy also teaches Dramatherapy and has held a Lecturer post at the University of Derby since 2012. She was the Programme Leader for the MA Dramatherapy from 2015 - 2017. Her approach as a dramatherapist draws upon psychodynamic and psychoanalytic thinking. She also has a particular interest in group dynamics and has completed a Foundation in Group Analysis course.

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION AND EXPERIENCE

I am registered as an Arts Therapist (Dramatherapist) with the HCPC Registration no. AS14042

I am also a full member of BADth (British Association of Dramatherapists).

My current role is a Lecturer in Therapeutic Arts at the University of Derby. I am also employed as member of the HCPC's Fitness to Practice panel. As well as my academic and clinical roles, I am also engaged in theatre-making and directing with XYZ Theatre Company.

My clinical experience is in working in both adult and child/adolescent mental health settings working with people experiencing difficulties in their lives. I have particular experience in working with depression, anxiety, trauma, bereavement, family relationship difficulties and eating disorders.
